THIS TYPE OF CARBURETOR IS USED ON MANY TWIN
CYLINDER ENGINES FROM 14 HP TO 20 HP
ENGINES.GREEN ARROW TO RIGHT INDICATES
FRONT OF CARBURETOR, BEHIND THAT SILVER
PLATE IS THE DIAPHRAGM OR FUEL PUMP IF YOU
WILL, WHICH CAN BE BOUGHT AS A KIT, IT IS HELD
ON BY THREE TO FOUR FLAT HEAD SCREWS, THE
FUEL LINE HOOKS IN RIGHT BELOW THE ARROW IN
PHOTO. OVER TIME THIS ENGINE WILL START TO
RUN ERRATIC DUE TO MOISTURE BUILD UP INSIDE OF
IT, IN A WAY IT IS A BOWL TYPE CARBURETOR.
THE NEXT PHOTO IS A PICTURE OF THE TOP OF THE
CARBURETOR WITH THE AIR BREATHER REMOVED. IN
THE CENTER BY THE ARROW YOU WILL SEE WHATS
CALLED THE CHOKE BUTTERFLY WHEN CHOKE
CABLE IS PULLED ALL THE WAY OUT IT CLOSES
FULLY, WHEN YOU PUSH THE CABLE IN IT OPENS
FULLY, SOMETIMES IF YOU WILL ADJUST CHOKE
CABLE TO WHERE WHEN IT CLOSED AND THE
BUTTERFLY IS ONLY OPEN TWO THIRDS OF THE WAY
IT WILL STOP THESE TYPE OF ENGINES FROM
RUNNING ERRATIC.
TO ADJUST SEE GREEN ARROW IN NEXT PHOTO IT
POINTING TO THE CHOKE CABLE WHICH YOU WILL
TAKE LOOSE BY LOOSENING BOLT, WHERE CABLE
TOUCHES CARBURETOR ABOVE ORANGE ARROW
WITH A FIVE SIXTEENTHS WRENCH OR SOCKET AND
RATCHET.  AFTER LOOSENING BOLT TAKE CABLE
FROM WHERE IT CONNECTS, SEE BLUE ARROW, IT
WILL BE A SMALL ARM THAT STICKS  DOWN BY
CARBURETOR YOU WILL NOTICE THAT MOVING ARM
MOVES BUTTERFLY, SET BUTTERFLY ABOUT HALF
OPEN STICK CABLE IN ARM AND BOLT BACK UP, BUT
MAKE SURE CHOKE KNOB IS PUSHED ALL THE WAY
IN AT DASH FIRST.
THE ORANGE ARROW IS POINTING TO THE DRAIN
PLUG ON THE SIDE OF THIS TYPE CARBURETOR YOU
WILL NEED A FIVE EIGHTS SOCKET AND RATCHET TO
REMOVE. REMOVE NUT AND FUEL AND MOST LIKELY
WATER WILL DRAIN OUT, DEPENDING IF IT HAS BEEN
REMOVED BEFORE .
THE NEXT SHOT SHOWS THE DRAIN PLUG REMOVED,
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE A JET INSIDE, BUT THAT
WILL BE LEFT TO THE PROFESSIONALS, GET A CAN
OF WD-40 WITH THE STRAW AND SPRAY LIBERALLY
IN DRAIN PLUG OPENING, LET DRAIN AND PUT PLUG
BACK IN. CRANK ENGINE, YOU MAY HAVE TO SPIN IT
SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE CARBURETOR TO PRIME
ITSELF WITH THE CHOKE PULLED OUT, BUT WITH
GOOD SPARK IT SHOULD RUN, IF NOT SEEK SHOP
HELP.
