SAFETY SWITCHES
After three or four years of usage, usually one or more will go bad causing the engine not to start
especially if started by battery and by ignition switch.Alot of good equipment can be found setting
up because of these switches. RIDING MOWERS HAVE AT LEAST THREE OF THESE SWITCHES, ONE
LOCATED ON CLUTCH BRAKE, ONE LOCATED ON BLADE ENGADGEMENT AND ONE LOCATED ON SEAT.
Pushmowers have only one and it is connected to handle you hold to start and run. Generators
have a low oil pressure switch that will usually go out.

TO the right, see arrow is a picture
of a oil pressure switch that is
common on todays small engines
and typical on generators;it will be
located somewhere on engine
crankcase, in the case of this
photo by the oil filter.UNPLUG OR
DISCONNECT,ENGINE SHOULD FIRE
WITH IT UNPLUGGED. ITS ONE OF
THE SIMPLER SWITCHES.
TO the right is a picture of a
pushmower, the arrow indicates
the only safety switch on it, with
the only electrical wire on it
besides the plug wire. THE handle
you hold to start controls it.
To the right, see arrow, is a picture
of a common switch on a riding
mower, actually the brake clutch
safety switch, it was located inside
the frame near the steering column
and pulled out for an example
which is one of the three that can
go bad.
